XFAlpha Podcast Notes - Episode 8

Are you excited? Because you should be. Today, Jonah and I go over all of the interior offensive linemen picked in the XFL Draft. There are some flubs in here as I falsely trusted Wikipedia, and Jonah thought one of the lineman had a famous father, but it turns out the only thing they share is an uncommon last name. Also, we talk about minor league baseball and wrap it all into a bigger conversation around the XFL. We get stronger every week so jump on the bandwagon before it's too late. Notes below:

INTERIOR OFFENSIVE LINE

1. New York Guardians
1. Parker Collins - Guard out of Appalachian State who once participated in a Car Wash for Cancer.
2. Anthony Coyle - Fordham Center that was All-Patriot League first team his final two years there. He has one of the most boring Twitter accounts I have ever seen. Everything is some lazy phrase like nothing worth having comes easy.
3. Zac Kerin - First-Team All-MAC out of Toledo. He actually hung around the NFL for five years including playing in 18 games over that span but was unable to find a team in 2019.
4. Ian Silberman - 10th best high school offensive tackle went to Florida before transferring to Boston College. He was drafted in the sixth round by the 49ers in 2015 where he played one game. He got in two games for the Raiders in 2018, and just signed with the Arizona Cardinals practice squad on November 13th of this year.
5. Arie Kouandjio - The older, less talented brother of Cyrus. Still became a second-team All-American and fourth round pick by the Redskins. He started games for the Redskins as recently as 2017 but has not made an active roster since then. 
6. Garrett Brumfield - #1 rated guard in the nation coming out of high school, and then committed to LSU where he was nicknamed Bruiser. One of his hobbies is spray paint art. He signed with the Steelers after the draft but was unable to make the roster. Still young so still a good amount of upside with him. 
2. Tampa Vipers
1. Jordan McCray - AAC First-Team at Central Florida his senior year. Qualified for the state high school wrestling tournament his sophomore year. Bounced around some roster but no games played.
2. Isaiah Williams - Not Illinois Quarterback Juice Williams. Played at Akron where he switched from offensive to defensive line back to the offensive side of the ball. 
3. Andrew Tiller - Syracuse guard and was selected in the sixth round by the Saints. He’s played in 28 games, including 7 starts in both 2015 and 2016 for the 49ers. He bounced around practice squads but couldn’t find a team this season. 
4. Tre Jackson - Unanimous All-American at Florida State and South Team MVP at the Senior Bowl. He fell in the draft since he is a pretty poor athlete, even for guard standards but was drafted in the fourth round by the Patriots. He started nine games his rookie year, but unfortunately, he just kept getting injured after that and never played in another NFL game. If he’s fully healthy, he has the pedigree to make it back to an NFL roster.
5. Tony Adams - NC State Guard whose Dad was a college wrestling coach, yet somehow Tony started in competitive tennis at age 2. 
6. Daronte Bouldin - Ole Miss guard. 
7. Marquis Lucas - West Virginia guard.
8. William Campbell - Defensive tackle at Michigan who is trying to transition to offensive line. He was actually drafted by the Jets in the sixth round of the 2013 draft but failed to make the team. 
9. Zack Golditch - Guard out of Colorado State. Survivor of the Aurora movie theater shooting. He was shot in the neck and was released later that day after a hospital visit. 
10. John Yarbrough - Offensive lineman out of Richmond. Seems to like Barstool Sports. 
3. Seattle Dragons
1. Venzell Boulware - Miami Guard after some time at Tennessee. 
2. Dillon Day - Mississippi State Center that played in the Senior Bowl in 2015. He was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Broncos and won a Super Bowl as a member of the practice squad. This is the first year he hasn’t made a practice squad so a fringe NFL guy who should be solid as a center. He might be a Nickelback fan or he might be making fun of them. Not positive off of two tweets.
3. Cyril Richardson - Baylor guard that was a unanimous first-team All-American. Then became a fifth round pick by the Bills. He started four games and appeared in 12 his rookie year but has not played in an NFL game since. He’s 6’5” and 330 pounds so he’s massive, but he wasn’t able to stick in the NFL, which was a common theme for Baylor linemen during that era. 
4. Kirk Barron - Purdue Center that was a two-time Army Strongest Man Winner. No idea what that award is, but I love me some strength. Received his master’s degree this past year. 
5. Robert Myers - Lineman out of Tennessee State. The Ravens selected him in the fifth round of the 2015 NFL Draft, but he did not make the roster and hasn’t been with a team since 2017. 
4. Dallas Renegades
1. Maurquice Shakir - Guard out of Middle Tennessee State. He’s a big Lakers fan.
2. Josh Allen (ULM) - Not the Bills Quarterback. Also not the Jaguars edge rusher. Center out of Louisiana Monroe. He lettered in powerlifting in high school, and I very much wish that would have been a sport option for me back in the day. I would not have been good at it, but I would have liked the option. 
3. Alex Balducci - Played nose tackle at Oregon but then his college coach, Chip Kelly, immediately signed him and tried to make him an offensive lineman. Impressively, he played in two games for the 49ers despite just making the transition to the offensive side of the ball a few months earlier. But he has not seen game action since.
4. John Keenoy - Western Michigan Center that played at the East-West Shrine Game and is currently on the Vikings practice squad so he’s definitely a borderline NFL guy.
5. Salesi Uhatafe - Guard at Utah, majored in sociology.
6. Oni Omoile - Iowa State guard who believes that you should vaccinate your children. 
7. Maea Teuhema - Teuhema certainly lived by Cardale Jones’s motto of not in college to play class, he was there to play football as he got suspended by LSU for poor academic standing. Instead of serving the suspension and studying more, he transferred to Southeastern Louisiana. Considering he was a starter as a true freshman and sophomore, this guy has a good amount of upside, and I could definitely see him making an impact for Dallas. 
8. Malcolm Bunche - UCLA guard who originally played for Miami.
5. St. Louis Battlehawks
1. Brian Folkerts - Center for the Washburn Ichabods. Two-time letterman in wrestling and an Eagle Scout. Played in 28 games from 2013-2015, the highlight being the time he returned a kickoff for 12 yards for the Panthers. He is not a fan of Frontier Airlines. 
2. Dallas Thomas - Former Tennessee Volunteer who was a third round pick by the Dolphins in 2013. He has 26 starts in the NFL, but his last one was back in 2016, and his final start was so bad that the Dolphins released him that week. He hasn’t been particularly close to getting back these last two years, but he does have a strong belief in the value of staying hydrated. 
3. Jake Campos - Could have gone to Iowa but instead committed to Missouri, and then changed his mind and went to Iowa State, what a terrible downhill slide that was. His interests include Neil DeGrasse Tyson and Busch Beer. 
4. Tyler Gauthier - A lineman at The U.
5. Blake Muir - Baylor guard from Australia where he was an accomplished swimmer. 
6. James Murray - He had to walk on at Holy Cross but somehow managed to keep the dream alive and actually played for the Chiefs in two games last year. 
7. Juwann Bushell-Beatty - Michigan Tackle that is going to have to move inside to guard due to a lack of athleticism. 
8. Dejon Allen - Hawaii guard. 
9. Korren Kirven - Started as a defensive tackle at Alabama but tried to switch to the offensive side of the ball halfway through his career. Due to injury, he did get six starts his senior season, but that was 2016, so not a ton of potential at this point. He believes, “Life is too short to put up with fools.”
10. Michael Miller - Another lineman from Washburn, which has apparently become the XFL’s Offensive Line U. 
11. Avery Young - Played tackle at Auburn. Brother is Willie Young, former defensive end for the Lions and Bears. 
12. Chandler Miller - Tulsa guard.
6. Los Angeles Wildcats
1. Fred Lauina - Oregon State guard who majored in sociology and listed Michael Oher as his favorite athlete. 
2. Damien Mama - Made a bunch of All-American teams in high school before going to USC. He’s a big boy at 334 pounds. He has not tweeted in over two years.
3. Nico Siragusa - Not the son of Tony Siragusa. Offensive lineman out of San Diego State who was a fourth round pick by the Ravens in 2017. Tested out very well at the combine but completely tore his knee up during his first training camp where he tore his ACL, PCL, and MCL. If he’s actually healthy, it’s tough to find somebody with a higher upside than him as an interior offensive lineman, so here’s to hoping he can regain his form and stay out on the field. 
4. Ryan Cummings - Also the name of a very famous cheerleader which I didn’t know those existed. Played with Christian McCaffery in high school before going to Wyoming and playing with Josh Allen. 
5. Micah St. Andrew - Fresno State guard that was listed at 348 pounds. He loves Jesus and football. 
6. Patrick Vahe - Four-year starter at Texas who just graduated last year. I mean, I know Texas has not been great, but that seems like he’s a worthwhile guy to have around. He uses Head & Shoulders for his hair.
7. Toa Lobendahn - Guard out of USC.
8. Dorian Johnson - Fourth round pick by the Cardinals after a strong career with Pitt. Was the second ranked offensive lineman after Laremy Tunsil in his high school class. 2016 All-American, and it’s weird that he wasn’t able to stick anywhere.
7. DC Defenders
1. Jon Toth - Big unathletic center out of Kentucky. Kentucky’s website owns, because I found out his nickname is Toth (hard-o), he couldn’t live without his moped, he speaks Spanish, his life’s theme song is Hello by Adele, and his favorite meal is a big juicy steak. 
2. Rishard Cook - Guard for UAB.
3. Chris Brown (USC) - Guard out of USC. Has not beaten up Rihanna. 
4. James O’Hagan - Big time high school wrestler who dominated the state of New York. Still, he decided to pursue football at the University of Buffalo. 
5. Chase Farris - Played tackle for Ohio State. Won a Super Bowl with the Patriots on their practice squad. He earned a Master’s Degree.
6. Ronald Patrick - South Carolina guard with 80 inch wingspan. 
7. Terron Prescod - NC State offensive lineman who at least just recently got out of school. 
8. Houston Roughnecks
1. Demetrius Rhaney - Center for Tennessee State. Originally from Fort Lauderdale, he had to go to Ellsworth Community College in Iowa Falls, Iowa instead of Alabama A&M, because his high school lost his transcript. Partially due to the toughness he showed living in Iowa Falls for two years, he was drafted by the Rams in the seventh round. He managed to play in 33 NFL games but started just once and has most recently been in the Alliance and CFL. 
2. Marquez Tucker - Southern Utah Guard who loves Juicy J and hot wings. 
3. Patrick Lewis - Texas A+M center who started 13 games for the Seahawks over 2014 and 2015. 
4. Ryan Anderson - Wake Forest offensive lineman who is definitely not the most famous athlete with his name.
5. Isame Faciane - Played Defensive Tackle for Florida International and has been trying to make it as an offensive lineman since 2015. 
6. Sebastian Tretola - Good enough for Iowa Western, good enough for me. Arkansas product who was drafted by the Titans in the sixth round and is absolutely awesome as he may have given a man a concussion for 12 hours (it also may have been Tajae Sharpe), and stuck around the Titans after that. But he got shot in the leg two months later, and that is finally when the Titans had enough. 
7. Tejan Koroma - BYU product.
