She has had two title runs, but one was immediately ended by injury, and the other included a feud with Lana, so not exactly the most heralded title runs in WWE history.
She has struggled with injuries a bit, but came back at the Royal Rumble and instantly became a title contender although she lost her match in Saudi Arabia at Super Showdown. Now, because WWE doesn’t know what they’re doing, she’s tagging with Lacey Evans to take on Bayley and Sasha Banks.
Right now, Bayley is in the middle of one of the least consequential title reigns since the Attitude Era as the WWE has failed to build any interest in the Smackdown Women’s Division, especially once Charlotte decided she’d rather go to NXT than deal with Bayley.
I do think Naomi is worthy of being a strong singles champion, and although she has gotten some opportunities, she’s never really had a title reign that mattered. I think a long feud with her and Sasha Banks for the title (Bayley needs a reset before really mattering) would be an ideal use of both of their talents as Naomi is a great babyface and a motivated Sasha Banks is one of the best in the business as a heel. I know Naomi didn’t really work through NXT so she isn’t as respected for her in-ring work, but her athleticism translates really well. It’s just up to the WWE not to blow it. Instead, Glow it.
