WWE Is Ruining... Sasha Banks

This one is near and dear to my heart, because Sasha Banks truly is the boss. When she came out of NXT onto the main roster, it seemed like an absolute guarantee that her and Charlotte would become the two stars to lead the women’s division for years to come. This was towards the end of her feud with Bayley, which is the greatest women’s feud WWE has ever done, and it may be the greatest feud in NXT history.

Instead, they saddled her with a stable including Tamina and a Naomi that they refused to give any character development to. At least Team BAD lived up to the name. Once she got out of that, she was able to win the Raw Women’s Championship four times, but her last title reign was nearly three years ago. As bad as that is, not a single one of her title reigns lasted an entire month. That is both unfathomable and inexcusable.

Her and Bayley teamed up to become the first women’s tag team champions, and they did nothing with it. I was at an NXT house show where they implied they would be defending them everywhere, and then that went nowhere. Eventually they lost to the greatest women’s tag team champions in history, the IIconics (seriously, they might be the best in history). Sasha quit the company for four months in response.

And now we are at present day where Bayley is the Smackdown Women’s Champion and Sasha is her buddy who consistently loses to Lacey Evans and Tamina. So, apparently taking that time off did not do her any favors. They have been hinting at a Sasha turn for so many months, but still nothing.

That turn is definitely coming, and all I can hope for is that they do it well, and by well, I mean brutally. This turn is so expected that it has to find a way to shock the audience. The Festival of Friendship worked so well, because they took us on an emotional rollercoaster, but with Sasha and Bayley, they have somehow made these friends with tremendous history mean very little.

Now that Charlotte is feuding with Bayley, the ideal situation would be Sasha finding a way to insert herself into a champion vs. champion feud to make it a triple threat and be the first woman to hold both the NXT and Smackdown titles at the same time. Sasha should be a massive star and there are no titles or accolades that she isn’t worthy of obtaining. Her talent is undeniable; it’s time for her to take the reins and lead the women’s division in 2020.
