WWE Is Ruining... Riddick Moss

Riddick Moss has a record for longest title reign in the WWE. That would have been an unfathomable statement just three short months ago, but he quickly got called up to be Mojo Rawley’s bodyguard, turned on him in a matter of weeks to steal away the 24/7 title and held it for a record 41 days before losing it while jogging to R-Truth.

I do respect that he not only defends the title at all times but also wears it at all times.

Moss was the greatest athlete at the WWE Performance Center due almost entirely to the Riddick Regimen which is a combination of...well, they never really let that gimmick get off the ground so I’m not sure what it consisted of. But he is one hell of an athlete.

He’s shown flashes of personality, great athleticism, but has never really put anything together in the ring. He’s fine, but nothing he does stands out. Luckily, I have the greatest idea in history for Riddick Moss and a few other guys.

Moss will be in a stable with Titus O’Neil, Baron Corbin, Mojo Rawley, Rob Gronkowski, Tino Sabbatelli, Babatunde, Dio Maddin, Cal Bloom, Dan Matha, and Omari Palmer (we lost a couple guys, but I think the WWE could bring them back with this billion dollar idea). They’ll be called The 11, and they will just talk about how nerdy pro wrestlers are and football players are better athletes and superior to pro wrestling fans in every way. Every time they win, they will do a super pose as if they just scored a touchdown. It will be aggravating and wonderful, and it takes 11 guys that nobody cares about and turns them into one of the most powerful groups in pro wrestling history.

Now that is a damn good use of Riddick Moss.

WWE Is Ruining... Titus O'Neil

Would you like to hear something surprising? As I write this (February 19, 2020 - I’ve got a backlog so that’s why the publish date is much later), Titus O’Neil has won 17 of his last 19 matches in the WWE, and one of those losses was a Battle Royal. The only problem was his only Raw match during that time was a loss to Bobby Lashley. But this man is killing it on Main Event and the House Show circuit. He hasn’t lost a singles match at a house show since May. He’s red hot fire. Now the names are slightly less than inspiring, but over that time, he has beaten the likes of Drew Gulak, Tony Nese, EC3, Mojo Rawley, Shelton Benjamin, Eric Young, Robert Roode, and Cesaro. Wait, that last name should not belong there, but yes, it did happen.

So is it time to put Titus on TV and let him dominate everyone in sight? No, he’s 42 and has never been all that great in the ring. He shows an uncomfortable amount of skin, but if I was built like that at any point in my life, I would probably stop wearing clothes altogether. But I just don’t see much in-ring potential for the guy. He’s a fantastic ambassador, living in the Tampa region, he is beloved throughout the entire area and donates a ton of time to local charities which makes him a fantastic person for WWE to keep employed, but it doesn’t make him a great candidate for a title run.

So I kind of like that he’s just dominating on the house show loop, out of sight and out of mind for most wrestling fans, but those in attendance get to see the nice guy finish first. I know it’s not headlining WrestleMania, but these roles need to be filled by somebody, and it’d be tough to find a better person than Titus O’Neil to do it.

2019 WWE Brawl for All: Chad Gable vs. Titus O'Neil

Today, we move on to another fascinating matchup where a former football player comes in with a size advantage, but as Marcus Stroman has taught us, Height Don't Measure Heart, especially when the smaller man has an Olympic Wrestling background.

Joe’s #3 Chad Gable vs. Jonah’s #6 Titus O’Neil
Joe: This is going to be a takedown clinic, and although Titus O’Neil in his physical prime may have had enough athleticism to make this interesting, at this point, Gable is going to maul his way to the inside and continually score points by putting him to his back.

Jonah: Titus is constantly referred to as one of the strongest people in the WWE. He’s a huge guy and played high level college football so his athleticism is no joke. Unfortunately, Joe is right, and Gable is a takedown machine. I doubt Titus would be able to stop them effectively, so he’s got a puncher’s chance and that’s pretty much it. If he does connect though, it’s going to hurt like hell.

Joe: Yeah, I don’t equate strength with powerful punches. I’m probably as strong as Gennady Golovkin, but that dude could knock somebody’s head off, and it would take a small miracle for me to knock someone out with one punch. I think even the threat of the one punch knockout is overestimated here, and yeah, this is just a really bad matchup for Titus, so unless you have anything to add, we can make this quick and move Chad Gable to the quarterfinals.

Jonah: I will agree that Gable should win due to takedowns, but Titus is huge and athletic, I wouldn’t want to get punched by him.

Joe: I mean, I wouldn’t want to get punched by anybody. I have a five-month-old, and if he gets his knuckles across my face right, it is not a pleasant experience. I will assume that Titus punches about that hard, which will not be enough to stop the takedown machine, Chad Gable.

Jonah: Gable wins on takedowns, but you probably shouldn’t pick a fight with Titus O Neil anytime soon.
